Fashion designer Kostas Murkudis and designer duo Esther and Dimitrios Tsatsas have joined forces on a long-term collaborative project based on their common love for materials, cuts and proportions. SESSION 01 is a collection of garments and bags, handcrafted in Germany and based on two contrasting materials: Delicate French lace and natural Scandinavian calfskin.
The interaction between transparency and density defines the cut of this sleeveless top: Smooth lamb nappa and fine cotton lace have been combined to offer different ways of wearing. Designed without a predefined front and back, the wearer can decide which part of the body is to show the concealing effect of the leather or the transparency of the French lace, manufactured in the town of Caudry by a family business with more than 130 years of tradition.
The top is accentuated by an innovative bonding technique that is elaborately handcrafted in Germany. Here, the cotton lace is bonded by hand between two layers of lamb nappa, to highlight the delicate three-dimensional structure of the lace embedded in the leather.
