Fashion designer Kostas Murkudis and designer duo Esther and Dimitrios Tsatsas have joined forces on a long-term collaborative project based on their common love for materials, cuts and proportions. SESSION 01 is a collection of garments and bags, handcrafted in Germany and based on two contrasting materials: Delicate French lace and natural Scandinavian calfskin.
An elaborate handcrafting process has brought this shoulder bag, made of a calfskin core and an exterior layer of finest cotton lace, into shape: The idea behind the design was not to restrict the delicate material to a rigid shape but to create space for the aesthetic beauty of the lace, manufactured in the town of Caudry, France, by a family business with more than 130 years of tradition. The result is a romantic interplay of lace, always in motion and unique to each bag thanks to its hand-cut design. The small interior leather pocket stores your everyday essentials, while the bag, which can be worn over the shoulder or cross-body, nestles around the wearer’s body and becomes an integral part of the clothing.
