With the publication TSATSAS. past, present, future, Esther and Dimitrios Tsatsas offer a deep, personal insight into their artistic oeuvre. Since 2012, the designer duo has been developing high-quality leather bags and accessories that break with established design parameters and interweave and advance the traditional Offenbach bag-making craft with their very own progressive design language.
The book, released on the occasion of the TSATSAS exhibition at the Deutsches Ledermuseum, illustrates the couple’s varied working processes, from the first ideas for a design to the transformation of traditional leather craftsmanship and their various sources of inspiration in art, design, architecture and music. An extensive picture section is complemented by exclusive personal essays from Dieter Rams as well as David Chipperfield on their collaborations with TSATSAS, as well as texts by Yoko Choy, Markus Frenzl, Esther and Dimitrios Tsatsas.
