HALO
From Ancient Greek ἅλως (hálōs)
An optical phenomenon produced by light, typically from the sun or moon,
interacting with ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere.
Some subtleties speak louder than ornament. The HALO shoulder bag distils this idea into a single gesture: a solid brass ring gathers soft calfskin, marking the junction between handle and body with quiet precision.
Handcrafted in Germany from supple calfskin and shaped through a complex, asymmetrical cut, the bag, designed by Esther and Dimitrios Tsatsas, develops a crescent silhouette. At one end, it tapers into an adjustable shoulder strap; at the other, the leather is drawn through a distinctive rounded ring. The resulting soft folds articulate the bag’s signature detail – an allusion to the halo: the optical phenomenon in which a luminous circle surrounds the sun or moon through the refraction or reflection of light by ice crystals in the atmosphere.
The gold- or palladium-plated ring, crafted from recycled brass in Italy, is positioned precisely at the point where the silhouette becomes the handle. It serves not only a structural purpose but also defines the object’s formal language.
